Daring to question Open Identity
12 Apr 10: A new blog questions whether Open Identity makes identity too complicated?
The US Government's push for a National Strategy for Secure Online Transactions (NS-SOT) has quite properly created a great deal of excitement. The Open Identity movement is pushing for widescale adoption of the identity metasystem, OpenID and the new Open Identity Exchange model.
While I applaud Information Cards and the realisation that we need an ecosystem comprising a plurality of digital identities, I have reservations about the new Open Identity Trust Framework. It seems to be built more on complicating generalisations than simplifying assumptions.
